Theory of knowledge
The Theory of knowledge is conducted in a unique way taking into consideration the themes and the areas of knowledge. The students involve in the process of thinking in collaboration, through debates and discussions and different activities. Team teaching comes into force with the involvement of subject faculty and the TOK coordinator. The subject faculty members contribute their ideas. The TOK integration takes place with respect to the units taught in the class, after a preliminary discussion with the faculty member. To experience in-depth understanding of TOK, the school organizes sessions of the guest speakers, the content of which revolves around ATL skills and the attributes of the learner profile.
This year, TOK Retreat held in Goa in the month of October for two
nights and three days, was a unique and enlightening experience, providing a serene and
natural backdrop for in-depth study and contemplation on the chosen essay title. This
report aims to summarize the activities, outcomes, and reflections on the retreat.
The retreat took place in the beautiful coastal region of Goa, chosen for its lush
natural surroundings and peaceful environment. The location provided an ideal backdrop
for engaging with intellectual pursuits, encouraging participants to delve deeper into
their understanding of the essay title.
The retreat was attended by 28 students and 6 faculty subject experts. This diverse
group of individuals added depth to the discussions and enriched the learning
experience. The group experts shared the theories of their subjects and the role of
ethics by large providing valuable insights and frameworks for approaching the topic.
Participants were divided into smaller groups to engage in lively and productive
discussions, where they explored different perspectives and shared their thoughts.
